Date set for dedication of ‘The Cross’

‘The Cross,’ constructed with bricks collected by Norwood Jones and friends from around the world, will be dedicated at 4 p.m., December 17.

A retired Jackson businessman, Norwood had ‘The Cross’ constructed on property he owns between U.S. Highway 412 and Old Bells Highway.

A final touch – a circular drive – has been added, which allows visitors to pull off Old Bells Highway to pray or meditate.

Besides having the cross constructed and adding the drive, the area has been landscaped and two benches are available for visitors.

The number of bricks collected totaled 250.

Welcome to the Cross
This is a collection of bricks that came from my visits – and friends visits – from all over the world during the past 40 years. I really had no idea as to what I would do with them other than stack them in my garage. The first of the year when making my goals for 2017 it came to me that I should build this cross on some property I’ve owned on Highway 412 and Old Bells Highway.
Dedicated to the God of Love and my dear wife, Joyce, since August 17, 1951 – Norwood Jones
