Construction on the largest water tank on Jackson Energy Authority’s water system continues near the Airport Industrial Park.
The cost for the 2.5 million gallon elevated tank is estimated at $4.5 million, and is scheduled to serve current water needs and provide for future growth in the area.
The tank column is being constructed of reinforced concrete and the tank/bowl will be constructed of steel. The time of completion is expected to be in late spring, early summer of 2020, and the painting will be similar to other JEA water tanks.
The last elevated water tank was built on Crawford Springs Road in 1999.
