JACKSON, Tenn.—Details aren’t available, but Jackson Mayor Scott Conger says he will order Jackson’s non-essential businesses closed in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The news come via social media post.
On Conger’s Facebook page he writes, “It has become overwhelmingly apparent that we must take every step that we can to flatten the curve. Our window is small and we have to use it. I’ve been listening to the medical community on the front lines and this needs to happen. We will be announcing a closure of non-essential businesses soon.”
The post doesn’t elaborate about timing or what is considered non-essential.
