Competition begins for Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship Pageant at Carl Perkins Civic Center

Tennessee’s premier beauty pageant takes the stage for the first preliminary competition at the Carl Perkins Civic Center at 8 p.m., Wednesday.

The Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship Pageant will feature 36 ladies competing in talent, evening wear and fitness – with each vying for $100,000 in scholarships.

The winner of the pageant will receive $15,000.

Competition continues through Saturday, when Kerri Arnold – Miss Tennessee Volunteer 2019 – crowns the new Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship Pageant winner.

The next step for the winner will be to serve as the Governor’s spokesperson for Character Education, where she will have the ability to interact with children throughout the state.

About 200 volunteer work the pageant, and the economic impact is about $2 million.
