Community leaders to hold summit at Lane College, Thursday

Community leaders from the City of Jackson, Jackson Police Department, United Way of West Tennessee, Lane College, Code Red Coalition and Jackson Madison County School System will hold a press conference to discuss a mission to reduce violence while empowering the community at the Kirkendoll Center on the campus of Lane College at 9 a.m., Thursday.

The initiative for Community Advocacy, Resilience and Empowerment (I-CARE), which consists of representatives from the 7P’s – Pastors, Police, Politicians, Proprietors, Parents, Principals, and Partners and other community leaders are a group of change agents in the community.

Through community awareness and education events, I-CARE has worked for the past year to inform and impact Jackson to make a safer community.
