The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Jackson Chapter, raises money each year to provide Christmas gifts for the children of some local vets.

This year’s effort came to fruition Saturday when 102 kids made their way through the toy department at Walmart (2196 Emporium Drive), with $200 each to spend.

Kids were treated to snacks for the shopping trip with The Grinch and good ole St. Nicholas on hand, too.

The local chapter of American Legion Riders also turned out to volunteer and help with the shopping .

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association fundraisers are held throughout the year, and donations are accepted to fund the project.
