The Tennessee’s comptroller’s office is looking into financial practices of the city of Jackson government under the Jerry Gist administration.
Current city mayor Scott Conger, released this statement on Facebook:
“Shortly after I took office, we began our process of systemically changing the way we do business in Jackson. Part of that was analyzing all of our contracts and agreements. We noticed some abnormalities is several areas and decided to request guidance from the Comptroller’s office. They have been working with my administration, as well as members of the city council and former and current City of Jackson, TN – Government employees to help us resolve these issues.
We are awaiting their final report and will inform you as soon as we are informed”.
The issue revolves around the city’s contract with Waste Management. At this time there is no statement from the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office regarding the investigation.
