Paul Taylor, Jackson City Councilman, District 6, was named vice mayor for the City of Jackson for fiscal 2021-22, Tuesday.

Members of the Jackson City Council unanimously approved Taylor when the Jackson City Council held its monthly meeting at City Hall.

“I was honored by my colleagues to be vice mayor for this year,” Taylor said, “A couple of things I told them I wanted to bring to the table this year is increased communication – that’s going to be the priority – and that’s between us and the community, and the community and back to us, especially between the council and the Mayor’s office.”

Paul Taylor chairs the Budget and Audit Committee.

“I’d really like to work on making sure we are all a party to what’s happening here in the City, and so I’ll continue to work on that with them and try to give the council as many opportunities as they can get to be involved in this process,” Taylor said.
