The Jackson Police Department issued a statement earlier today regarding a thwarted attempted burglary that took place on Sunday, Nov. 10. It was reported, thanks to the swift action of a vigilant citizen, the City of Jackson, TN Police Department responded to a reported burglary on Sunday, November 10th, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect for aggravated burglary. The report stated, at 11:54 a.m., officers arrived at the 300 block of Hatton St., observing an individual fleeing the scene and discarding items, including a .22 caliber rifle and 9mm handgun. Following a brief pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody and all recovered items were returned to the homeowner.
