(July 17, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- Team entries for the Regional Inter-Faith Association’s (RIFA) 9th annual Canstruction competition are now being accepted.
For the past few years, teams have made various constructions using canned foods. The food used in the construction is donated to the RIFA Food Bank.
According to a release from RIFA, Canstruction “challenges local professionals/students to showcase their talents by designing and building giant structures made entirely from canned foods, with the food used donated to the RIFA Food Bank.”
Any industry, corporate, civic, or church group can participate as long as a design or construction professional leads or mentors the team.
The deadline for the team entries is August 14. RIFA will also have an informational Kick-Off event on August 1. The Kick-Off will be held at the Jackson Generals Ballpark and sponsored by the Jackson Generals and West Tennessee Healthcare.
RSVP to the Kick-Off Event by contacting Shaun Powers at (731) 427-7963 or by e-mail at spowers@rifajackson.org
