Grace Media Group – NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM, 93.1 FM & WNWS.COM – visited with Ross Kyzar, a graphic design specialist with Leaders Credit Union for a question & answer session.

Question: First, a little background information. Where are you originally from, family, education?

Answer: My family is originally from Clinton, Mississippi. When I was four my parents became missionaries and I grew up in Costa Rica. I went to high school in Moscow, Russia and came to Jackson to attend Union.

I graduated in 2005 and have been here ever since. At this point I consider myself as being from Jackson because I have lived here longer than anywhere else. I have been married for 18 years and we have three kids.

Question: As the son of missionaries, you have lived in different parts of the world. Would you tell where and what you can about living in Russia?

Answer: I lived in Moscow from 1997 to 2001. I really enjoyed living in a big city and how easy it was to get around on the subway and other public transportation. I didn’t mind the winters and the city is beautiful with fresh snow on the ground, which was typically from about September through April.

The school I went to in Moscow was primarily for missionary kids. The classes were in English and most of my friends were Americans so it was still a fairly normal high school experience despite the location.

I have a lot of great memories from that time, but I am happy to be settled in Jackson.

Question: What appealed to you about applying for a position with Leaders Credit Union?

Answer: I did publication design for a local magazine for the last 16 years. I was happy at my job but the opportunity at Leaders came along and I had to look into it.

Leaders is very involved in the community and supports many local organizations, and is known for providing exceptional service to its members.

I was excited to be a part of that.

Question: How long have you been with Leaders, and would you describe your position?

Answer: I have been here a little over a month, and I feel like there is a lot I am still figuring out. I am the graphic designer on the marketing team and am responsible for things like business cards, brochures, signs, and other promotional items.

Question: What is one, or two things you enjoy most about working with Leaders?

Answer: I really love the team I work with and learning new skills.
