Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson’s Employee of the Month initiative is designed to formally recognize and reward city employees who consistently demonstrate exceptional performance, professionalism, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to public service.
Marcus Wilson has been selected as the Employee of the Month for January 2026. Wilson represents our city’s Information Technology Department.
Wilson’s nomination stated that he ‘has completely upgraded our broadcast abilities for public meetings allowing for greater constituency involvement. He is currently working on a project to create more resilience for our public safety systems and evidentiary storage. His skill and work-ethic are unparalleled and our team is lucky to have him!’
“It’s an honor and privilege to receive this award for doing a job I really enjoy,” said Wilson. “It was a pleasant surprise.”
“Marcus is one of the most capable and hard-working individuals that I have ever had the privilege of working alongside,” said City of Jackson, TN IT Director Brian Taylor. “He just completed a project to overhaul all server rooms to more efficiently utilize the space, fully-document and label critical infrastructure and even reduce the cooling costs. He is a true asset to the City of Jackson!”
“Our employees are the backbone of this city, and it is essential that we acknowledge those who go above and beyond in their daily duties,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “This program is a crucial step in fostering a culture of excellence and showing our dedicated staff how much their contributions are valued.”
