Business Spotlight – Mack Pest Control opens new office in Henderson

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Fourth generation family-owned pest control company, Mack Pest Control, has opened its fourth Tennessee location in Henderson at 426 N. Church Ave, Suite 3.

According to a press release from Summer Paris – Paris Creative Agency – Mack Pest Control has merged with an established and trusted Henderson Pest Control, Four Seasons Termite Co., as part of the acquisition.

Jerry Newsom, who operated the Four Seasons Termite business for decades, will continue to serve in that role for the Mack Pest Control office in Henderson.

Newsom is a former assistant football coach at Chester County High School and is currently the offensive coordinator at Chester County Junior High. He has been married to his wife Christie for 20 years and they have five children and six grandchildren.

“When this opportunity presented itself, we were excited about the possibility of working with Jerry in the Henderson market under the Mack Pest Control umbrella,” said Russ McKelvey with Mack Pest Control. “His company has a excellent reputation in Henderson and we will work with him to expand those services to Lexington and Selmer.”

Mack Pest Control offers both residential and commercial pest control services including treating bed bugs, ants, spiders, termites, fleas, ticks and wasps.

Mack Pest Control, Inc. started as a one-man operation in 1944 when C.C. (Mack) McKelvey responded to an ad in a magazine about business opportunities. He sent off his money and received a booklet about controlling pests, along with a hand duster and some dust pesticide.

From that beginning, he began to “kill roaches and rodents”. He knocked on doors and started demonstrating his pest control skills for cash. “Mack the Bug Man” began to be known in the Nashville area and he soon needed help! In 1952, the company was incorporated and Mack added a business partner, A. B. Oliphant. During these years, routes were developed in the Nashville area and also the surrounding towns. In 1977, an office was opened in Jackson, Tenn. and from there an office was opened in Memphis, Tenn. in 1988. Finally, the Henderson office was opened in 2022.
