Catherine (Cathy) Rankin, is the new purchasing director for Madison County Government.

Cathy, who found the purchasing position on the Madison County website, replaces Billy Vinson, who retired in December, 2021.

“I worked at Kirkland’s in Jackson, and held several positions (including) planning allocations and logistics,” Cathy said, “The last thing I did was the merchandise information office.”

Cathy, who moved to Jackson in 2003, was born in Arkansas, grew up in Memphis and graduated high school north of Nashville, in Hendersonville.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee Martin, Cathy also held a government position in Fairfax County, Virginia, as a budget analyist and contract administrator.

Cathy has two children – son Aron Cantor, who lives in Medford, Oregon, and daughter Chloe Cantor L’Estrange, who is a resident of Washington, D.C.
