
BREAKING NEWS 1:30 a.m. July 29, 2014
A little after 1:00 a.m. a resident called 911 and reported that she was awakened by the sound of gunfire.
The caller said the shots were in the area of South Lindsey between Camden Street and Lexington Ave.
Officers responding were flagged down by witnesses in a vehicle who were taking the victim to the hospital.
Witnesses directed officers to 227 South Lindsey as the location where the shooting took place. When officers located the crime scene they discovered .30-40 shell casings in the area and bullet damage to property.
Witnesses told officers that the victim was working on a car when a man approached on foot and opened fire with what appeared to be two handguns.  They described the suspect as a black male wearing dark clothes and a hoodie, a black flat-brimmed hat, dark shoes.  Witnesses say the suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported by EMS to JMC General Hospital Emergency Room. The extinct of his injury is unknown
