Brad McCoy, an on-air personality with 101.5 FM, passed away early Tuesday morning.

He was 60.

Brad was the host of ‘Keeping it Real with the Real McCoy’ which aired from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Medina Funeral Home, 302 West Church Avenue, in Medina, has the arrangements which are incomplete.

“Brad McCoy was loved by all,” Tom Mapes said. “He was a quality broadcaster, and he had a strong voice … opinionated. He was a pleasant person to be around.”

Mapes, who enjoyed a 40-year career in broadcasting, said he and Brad remained close friends after he left the industry.

“We shared an office together and in 2008, we shared our testimonies when we worked at 93.7 FM,” Mapes said.

A fundraiser will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, February 13 at the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market – $20 for a rack of ribs that included beans and slaw. $10 for one quarter of chili.
