The armed robbery occurred Monday night, April 28, a little before 9. A Sonic carhop in Jackson was robbed about 5pm the same day and another in Jackson a few days before.
Police were aided by security video and descriptions from the victims in identifying the 16-year-old male suspect. He wore no mask and had a distinctive hairstyle. Police in Jackson arrested the teenager last weekend and Brownsville Police added charges yesterday.
Police in Brownsville say the boy will be charged with aggravated robbery. He is being held in a juvenile detention facility in Madison County. Prosecutors in Jackson say they will ask that the juvenile be tried as an adult. He threatened the clerks with a handgun.
