Bomb Threat, Hardin County Courthouse and County Jail Evacuated
 
(March 24, 2014) Savannah, Tn. – According to officials the Hardin County Courthouse was evacuated after a bomb threat Monday morning. 
 
Hardin County Sheriff's Deputies, Hardin County Fire Dept, and Savannah Police cleared the area, evacuated citizens, and secured a perimeter for safety and search procedures.  
 
Authorities brought in bomb dogs including one from the Jackson Police Department to help clear the scene. 
 
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Tennessee Homeland Security and Tennessee Bomb and Arson squad were notified in the event they were needed. ATF was also alerted to look for any potential other similar threats.
 
Authorities did not locate any suspicious packages or devices.  The threat area was searched and cleared after which courthouse employees were allowed back to work.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
