The Jackson Beer Board approved a special occasion permit and a business permit during its monthly meeting at the City Council Chambers, Tuesday.
The Board also scheduled a Show Cause hearing for five convenience stores charged when Metro Narcotics conducted an underage alcohol operation, June 26.
The Board approved Chris Coughlin for a special occasion permit to sell, store and serve beer at the West Tennessee State Fair, which will be held at Jackson Fairgrounds Park, September 11-16.
Fred’s Store No. 2005, 1696 South Highland Avenue, was approved for a permit to sell, store and serve beer.
The five convenience stores charged with selling during the underage alcohol operation are –
Fuel City, 1321 E. Chester St.
East Chester Express, 1296 E. Chester St.
Superway, 405 North Hays St.
Valero, 1353 South Highland Ave.
Bull Market, 1706 South Highland Ave.
Total cost of alcohol purchased was $7.80. The Show Cause hearing will be held August 9.
