The City of Jackson’s Beer Permit Board fined three convenience stores and approved two requests for business permits in the City Council Chambers, Wednesday.
Warren’s Bonwood Food Mart (Exxon), 1911 South Highland Avenue, had its beer license suspended for 30 days, after a minor purchased beer illegally, March 3, 2019.
Snappy Mart (Mobil), 2016 South Highland Avenue, was fined $1,500 and had its beer license suspended for 30 days. The suspension will be waived if the fine is paid within seven days.
BP, 1939 South Highland Avenue, Snappy Mart (Mobil), 2016 South Highland Avenue, was fined $2,500 (multiple offenses) and had its beer license suspended for 30 days. The suspension will be waived if the fine is paid within seven days.
The Beer Permit Board approved requests for permits for two businesses.
Phoenix Theatres Entertainment, LLC, for a business known as Jackson Movies, LLC doing business as Empire 8 Theatres, 1511 Vann Drive, was approved for a beer license for selling, storing and serving beer on the premises where sold.
Grill Operations 2017, LLC d/b/a Genghis Grill, 1231 Vann Drive, was approved for a beer license for selling, storing and distributing beer for consumption off the premises.
