Battle of the Badges: Fighting For Life

MADISON County – Help Save a life by giving blood and show your support for our local law enforcement and service personnel by participating in the “Battle of the Badges”.  This program is a friendly competition between nine public service agencies, designed to encourage more blood donations.

The Jackson Fire Department, Jackson Madison Co. EMA, Jackson Madison County Health Dept., Jackson Police Department, Madison Co. Fire Dept., Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Medical Center EMS, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, are joining forces in the fight against summer blood shortages in the 6th Annual Madison County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.

By encouraging fellow officers, family members and friends to give blood May 14-26, at LIFELINE’s 183 Sterling Farms Drive location, these public servants will help make sure that there is enough blood for patients in 17 hospitals and 8 Air Evac helicopters. ” Since our public safety professionals know first- hand the importance of maintaining an adequate blood supply, they are perfect ambassadors to help us heighten awareness of the ongoing need for blood,” said Cherie Parker, Public Relations Coordinator for LIFELINE Blood Services.

Members of the community will have the chance to join the fight for life and declare support for their favorite public service agency by giving blood during the Battle of the Badges, May 14-26 at Lifeline Blood Services, 183 Sterling Farms Drive, Jackson. Blood Center Donor Hours are: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
