BAKERS RACK Baker’s Dozen high school football coaches poll – 8 area schools remain in hunt for state title

The BAKERS RACK Baker’s Dozen high school football coaches poll was reshuffled following the TSSAA quarterfinal round, Friday.

Going into this week’s semifinals, Peabody remains No. 1 in the coaches poll, but something has to give when No. 3 Huntingdon entertains No. 4 Lake County featuring a game of two undefeated teams, Friday.

USJ must wait a week, but the Bruins will play for the Division II-A state title, Dec. 5.

The BAKERS RACK is located at 203 E Lafayette Street – business hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

1) Peabody (13-0) – defeated Fairley, 29-28 in Overtime – up next – Class 2A state semifinals – at Riverside

2) Haywood (12-1) – defeated Crockett County, 41-35 – up next – Class 4A state playoffs – at Springfield

3) Huntingdon (13-0) – defeated Huntland, 42-10 – up next – Class 1A state playoffs – vs. Lake County at home

4) Lake County (13-0) – defeated West Carroll, 46-0 – up next – Class 1A state playoffs – at Huntingdon

5) Covington (11-2) – defeated Wooddale, 27-0 – up next – Class 3A state playoffs – at Pearl Cohn

6) USJ (10-3) – defeated Nashville Christian, 28-7 – up next – Division II-A state championship game – vs. Davidson Academy at Tennessee Tech University, Thursday, Dec. 5

7) Dyer County (11-2) – defeated Henry County, 31-24 – up next – Class 5A state playoffs – at Summit

8) Riverside (8-5) – defeated Forrest, 21-5 – up next – Class 2A state playoffs – vs. Peabody at home

9) Hardin County (11-2) – lost at Springfield, 28-21 in Overtime – Class 4A state playoffs – season is complete

10) Henry County (10-3) – lost to Dyer County, 31-24 – Class 5A state playoffs – season is complete

11) Crockett County (8-5) – lost at Haywood, 41-35 – Class 4A state playoffs – season is complete

12) South Gibson County (10-2) – Completed season Nov. 15

13) West Carroll (8-5) – lost at Lake County, 46-0 – 1A state playoffs – season is complete
