As of today, Tuesday, January 20, 2026 – Operational Period – Day 113 – The Memphis Safe Task Force reports 5,417 total arrests (31 homicide arrests) 879 firearms seized, 530 known gang members arrested and 148 missing children have been found since the arrival of the Tennessee National Guard.
In addition to National Guard troops, the DOJ’s components on the ground in Memphis include the FBI; U.S. Marshals Service; the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A string of local and state law enforcement are also involved.
All resources are in Memphis to assist with and support local priorities.
The Tennessee National Guard will provide additional eyes and ears, supporting Memphis Police Department who will continue to manage public safety in the city.
Per the Presidential Memorandum, the guardsmen and women are deputized by the U.S. Marshals.
