JACKSON, Tennessee — Organizers of the Area Relief Ministries-Room in the Inn Salt & Light Benefit Dinner announced today the cancellation of the annual event due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
NFL legend Eddie George was scheduled to serve as guest speaker for the Oct. 13 event at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. George will be the speaker at the Salt & Light Banquet next year, which will be held Oct. 15, 2021.
Instead of the annual event ARM will host a Virtual 5k Oct. 17 and plans to hold its annual Hub Classic December 28-30th at the Oman Arena.
ARM has remained open throughout the quarantine and extended its Room in the Inn ministry for homeless men for an additional month. The Room in the Inn season begins November 1st with 37 churches providing shelter, food and fellowship for the homeless population.
