JACKSON Tenn, (August 24, 2015) – The Jackson Police Department hosted a physical fitness and agility test at North Park on Saturday for candidates who want to become Jackson Police officers.
Recently, Chief Julian Wiser announced openings at the Jackson Police Department for new officers.
On Saturday the department hosted a physical fitness and agility test for potential candidates. These candidates have already passed the first background search and application process.
The applicants had to perform a series of events, which included a 1.5-mile run, pushups, sit-ups, the Illinois agility course, and a 150-pound dummy drag. Sixty-two candidates participated in the tests; only 40 candidates completed all events successfully.
Candidates successfully completing the physical fitness and agility test were given a date and time for an interview with the department.
