JACKSON, Tenn –Plans move ahead for the demolition of an apartment building
destroyed by fire
Property owner Paul Mundt appeared in environmental court on Monday for a
status hearing.
Mundt, a jackson property owner/manager reported to the court that he had
obtaining an asbestos report, and the results conform that asbestos levels
were low enough to proceed with the demolition of the property located at
1170 Hollywood Blvd.
Mundt is under a court order to demolish the property since June of this
year. The property was destroyed by fire in January.
According to Mr Mundt he had to explore all options including rebuilding
the property before giving up his rights of appeal on the demolition order.
Mundt will make another appearance next week in environmental court for
another status report. Mundt is being fined $50 a day for every day he is
in violation of the order.
