Amelia Collins and Rachel Shumaker won preliminary events in the inaugural Miss Volunteer America Pageant at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, Wednesday.
Amelia Collins, Miss Tennessee Volunteer, won the talent competition in her group, and Rachel Shumaker, Miss Mississippi Volunteer, won the Fitness and Wellness competition in her group.
Competition continues at 7 p.m., at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, today.
The winner of the Miss Volunteer America will be awarded $50,000 in scholarships.
The pageant features winners from 47 states and Volunteer Princesses from West Tennessee and throughout the country.
