While red lights remain in discussion where Vann Drive comes into Country Club Lane near U.S. Highway 412, the Jackson Police Department has helped eliminate some of the congestion.
“It’s an effort to help alleviate traffic concerns while the (Highway 45) Bypass is shut down,” said Jeff Shepard, patrol captain, Jackson Police Department, North District, “It should continue for the next two- or three weekends.”
But there other ways out of the area – most notably Pleasant Plains Extended and Rushmeade Road.
Pleasant Plains Extended offers a red light at Country Club Lane, where motorists can turn left and continue toward Highway 412.
But the best kept secret is Rushmeade Road.
If you are traveling west on Vann Drive toward Country Club Lane, Rushmeade Road can be found after you have passed Gander Outdoors and Le Bonheur Children’s Outpatient Center.
Rushmeade Road winds about 1.5 miles before you reach Country Club Lane at Jackson Christian School.
A left turn will have you headed toward Highway 412 – if that is your destination.
