Alex Reed, 35, has been hired as the new special assistant to Jackson Mayor Scott Conger.
A 2001 graduate of Jackson Christian, Reed attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
“At City Hall, I’ll be working with different departments to implement Mayor Conger’s vision,” Reed said, “My belief in Mayor Conger is what attracted me to this position. I’ve worked in politics in the past while I was living in Memphis and Arkansas.”
Reed said he’s more optimistic now about Jackson than he was in the past.
“I left the city to go to college, but stayed in Arkansas because I wasn’t optimistic about the future of Jackson and jobs,” Reed said, “But I stayed in tune to what was going on in Jackson politically, and with the new leadership we have now, I think we’ll be in good shape.”
