JACKSON, Tenn. – A Jackson man is charged after police say he assaulted a woman and
held her against her will.
According to court records, Marty Chatman’s ex-girlfriend told
investigators Chatman forced her into an apartment, threw her on a bed,
strangled her, hit her with multiple times with his fist, broke her phone
and refused to let her leave her apartment. Â A neighbor said she heard the
noise and tried to intervene but Chatman told her the woman could not
leave.
Chatman is charged with aggravated domestic assault, false imprisonment
and vandalism.
He was released on a $10,000 bond.
