Adam English was one of several alums strolling the sidelines while the University of Memphis practiced at L.L. Fonville Field on the campus at the University of Memphis Lambuth.
A Jackson native, and North Side High School graduate, English was a place kicker for the Tigers from 1994 to 1997.
“I really enjoyed my time at Memphis, and it’s great to see the guys come back to Jackson,” English said, “This is a great atmosphere … I wish them well this season, and I’m proud to have them in Jackson.”
Now, Adam English, M.D., practices medicine in Brownsville.
The University of Memphis Tigers arrived in Jackson Wednesday – practiced Thursday and Friday – and will hold a scrimmage at 10 a.m., Saturday.
The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
Memphis opens its 2019 season at home against Ole Miss, August 31.
