Tom Allen, who worked as a defensive coordinator at Lambuth University under Hugh Freeze (Auburn head coach) from 2008 through 2009, is serving in the same capacity at Clemson University.

After Lambuth, Allen made stops at Drake University, Arkansas State, Ole Miss, South Florida, Indiana (head coach) Penn State and Clemson.

After Penn State lost to Notre Dame in the 2025 Orange Bowl, Allen was hired to be the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Clemson.
