A 12-year-old girl’s bravery led to the capture of an attempted burglary suspect in Crockett County last week. Authorities say 35-year-old Robert W. Sills fled into a soybean field after trying to break into a home on Johnsons Grove Road around 6:15 p.m. on July 17. The homeowner’s daughter chased and tackled Sills, with a passing driver and a local farmer assisting in restraining him until deputies arrived. Sills faces charges of criminal trespassing, aggravated attempted burglary, and an active warrant. Sheriff Troy Klyce praised the girl’s courage and the community’s quick response, noting no injuries occurred. The Bells Police Department also assisted.
