City of Jackson launches Open Finance Portal; allows public to view how funds are spent

The public has access to view how funds are spent

JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson is pleased to announce the launch of our new Open Finance Portal – a key initiative in our continued commitment to finance transparency and public accountability. This platform empowers residents to explore up-to-date information on city spending and better understand how public funds are allocated to provide essential services across our city.

“Transparency is not just a principle – it’s a responsibility. With the launch of the new Open Finance Portal, we are giving our citizens direct access to how their tax dollars are being spent,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “This initiative is about building trust and ensuring that everyone has the tools to say informed and engaged in their local government.”

This new tool is designed to make city finances more accessible, open, and transparent for every citizen. The Open Finance Portal offers residents the ability to:

  • Browse up-to-dated information on city expenses
  • Drill down fund, department, or vendor
  • View detailed transaction information for every check issued by the city (excluding individual payroll)
  • Search transactions by date, amount, vendor, or city account
  • Updated weekly

Visit our website and select the “Open Finance Portal” button under Helpful Resources on the homepage to access portal.
