The Jackson Generals closed out their first home stand of the 2017 season with a 5-2 win over the Birmingham Barons at the Ballpark at Jackson, Monday.
Colin Walsh was the hitting star, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Michael Perez (1-for-3) drove in two runs as the Generals improved to 4-1.
Gabe Speier allowed one earned run and surrendered two base hits while picking up his first win of the season.
Alex Young started for the Generals and gave up one earned run and five hits in five complete innings of work.
The Generals, the Double A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks – begin a five-game series at Mobile (Los Angeles Angels), Wednesday, before returning home to face Montgomery (Tampa Bay Rays), Monday, April 17.
