Jackson, TN - This morning, School Resource Officers and the principal
of North Side High School  were informed that a student was in possession of a gun.
SRO officers immediately removed the student  from the classroom and did confirm the 
student to be in possession of a gun. The student was arrested. Possession of a gun on a 
school campus is a zero-tolerance offense. Following procedural protocol, the school was
placed on lockdown.

North Side families will be informed of the incident via the district parent information system
in order to keep parents informed and reaffirm their student'€™s safety.
