Applications for Part-time Reserve Deputies

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for
part-time reserve deputies.

Madison County Sheriff’s  Public Information Officer Tom Mapes said
reserve deputies are certified law enforcement officers. As deputies they
carry a gun, make arrests, serve warrants, work special events and patrol
with full-time deputies.

The sheriff’s office said it provides reserve deputies with the same
uniform and equipment as their full-time deputies.  Reserves are required
to purchase their own firearm.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old pass a background check and a
physical. Reserve deputies complete more than 80 hours of POST-certified
law enforcement training.

Applications can be picked up at the Madison County sheriff’s office or online
by going to the department website at mcso-tn.org. Applications must be completed and returned by Oct. 30.
