JACKSON, Tenn. – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for
part-time reserve deputies.Madison County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Tom Mapes said
reserve deputies are certified law enforcement officers. As deputies they
carry a gun, make arrests, serve warrants, work special events and patrol
with full-time deputies.The sheriff’s office said it provides reserve deputies with the same
uniform and equipment as their full-time deputies. Reserves are required
to purchase their own firearm.Candidates must be at least 21 years old pass a background check and a
physical. Reserve deputies complete more than 80 hours of POST-certified
law enforcement training.Applications can be picked up at the Madison County sheriff’s office or online
by going to the department website at mcso-tn.org. Applications must be completed and returned by Oct. 30.
