LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A West Tennessee high school teacher has pleaded
not guilty to charges of aggravated statutory rape.
Adam Yates appeared in Henderson County General Sessions Court on Tuesday
for arraignment. The 34-year-old is accused of having sex with a
17-year-old Lexington High School student.
According to the school’s website, Yates teaches in the special education
department and is a football/baseball coach.
Yates has been suspended without pay from his teaching and coaching
positions.
