A Jackson nurse practitioner is charged with simple assault

JACKSON, Tenn. - According to court papers, the allegation against Jeffery Young Jr.
started with a Sept. 1 incident in the parking lot of his north Jackson
office.

The victim told officers she was at the address for an appointment in one
of the other buildings that shares the lot. She alleges Jeff Young
approached her in a "threatening manner" and that he was screaming and
cursing her to leave the property. According to court papers the victim was
in fear for her safety.

Jeff Young is represented by attorney Mark Donahoe.

Donahoe said this woman and others were in his clients parking lot
soliciting his clients patients. This was observed by staff and Jeff
Young. Additionally, Donahoe said patients complained that they were being
asked by these people about services Jeff Young was providing. According
to Donahoe, police were called by his client and the people were asked to
leave. No arrests were made at the time. Donahoe said, "I guess they were
mad they had to leave so they went to the courts and the clerk allowed them
to sign a complaint.".

Donahoe waived the formal arraignment. A hearing is set for Oct 24 at
1:30 PM in City Court.
