JACKSON, Tenn. — Michael Stitts of Jackson accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend in April 2015 was found guilty of multiple charges including attempted murder. According to investigators, Stitts admitted to going to his ex-girlfriend’s house on Highview Street armed with a 28-gauge shotgun and forcing his way inside. Officers say Stitts admitted to breaking in the home by removing an air conditioner and once inside to getting into a struggle with the victim. The victim was shot once in her chest and once in her arm. Stitts was found guilty of four counts including attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated burglary and two firearm charges. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov.
