10 Accused in West Tennessee Meth Conspiracy

JACKSON, Tenn.  — Federal prosecutors say 10 people from the Jackson area have been indicted on charges of conspiring to distribute a highly potent and addictive form of methamphetamine throughout West Tennessee.

U.S. Attorney Edward L. Stanton III announced in a press release that the ten are accused of conspiring to distribute a form of meth that goes by the street name “ice.” Ice is methamphetamine with a purity level greater than 80 percent.

The ten ranged from the age of 29 to 72.

The indictment says the drug conspiracy lasted from August 2014 through March of 2016.

Stanton’s office said law enforcement seized more than 3,500 grams of ice, 800 grams of meth, three firearms, and about $64,000 in drug proceeds during the investigation.
