Jackson, Tennessee (May 26, 2016) — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has designated Jackson-Madison County General Hospital (JMCGH) a Blue Distinction Center+ or Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care, maternity care and knee and hip replacement programs as part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program.
Blue Distinction Centers are hospitals recognized for delivering quality specialty care safely and effectively, based on objective measures that were developed with input from the medical community. To receive a Blue Distinction Center+ designation, a hospital must demonstrate its expertise in delivering safe and effective specialty care, have earned national accreditation at the facility level, meet established quality thresholds and demonstrate better cost-efficiency compared to their peers.
Program designations for JMCGH:
- Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care
- Blue Distinction Center+ for Maternity Care
- Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement
