Stephanie Wilbourn and Bailey Bell took home the coveted Mirror Ball trophies after winning the ninth edition of ‘Dancing with the STARs,’ which was held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, Thursday.
The event, presented by Leaders Credit Union which benefited The STAR Center, which saw donations total $292,163.77 for the evening, which featured seven couples that ranged from bankers to business owners, nurses, and realtors.
“What a fabulous and fun way to raise money for such a great cause,” said Leigh Anne Bentley, Chief Marketing Office, Leaders Credit Union. “The STAR Center does such extraordinary work and Leaders Credit Union could not be more excited to be connected with such a great organization.
“We know the money raised from Dancing with the Stars goes to help people with all levels of ability throughout the whole year. We encourage others to contribute to make an even bigger difference.”
For over 36 years, this community has supported people with disabilities and their impact is felt across the region. The mission of The STAR Center is what drives the teams to fundraise and prepare for the competition.
Donations allow people who come to The STAR Center to turn their challenges into opportunities and rise above their circumstances. By attending or donating, guests will help make a difference in the lives of those who need it most as we #CrushTheNO for individuals with disabilities our community.
