Officers with the Jackson Department are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024.
The incident occurred at a party held at Picture Perfect Event Center at 2310 North Highland Avenue.
A total of eight people were injured in the shooting – seven of the victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment, and six of the victims were treated and released.
Two other victims were immediately airlifted to a hospital in Memphis and are in stable condition.
One of the victims, who was originally transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, was later airlifted to Memphis and ultimately succumbed to her injuries at approximately 7 a.m., Sunday.
While on the scene, responding officers received very little initial information or assistance from witnesses present.
