Jackson, TN – McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport (MKL) announces the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly reconstructed runways and air traffic control facility upgrades, scheduled for Tuesday, 3 p.m., October 15.
The event will take place at the airport and will feature the presence of airport officials, local, state, and national dignitaries, as well as the Jackson Chamber of Commerce Red Coats and other community leaders.
This Ribbon Cutting marks a major milestone in the comprehensive runway reconstruction project that began earlier this year. The newly rebuilt runways, lighting, and control tower upgrades are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire McKellar-Sipes team and partners.
The runway is set to be fully operational October 21, and the community eagerly anticipates the expanded service options that will follow. Denver Air Connection is scheduled to begin providing jet service at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport December 1, a development that promises to enhance travel options for both business and leisure travelers in the region.
“The completion of the runway project is a major step forward for McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport and the entire community we serve,” said Steve Smith, Executive Director of the Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority. “This project has been a tremendous effort by our team and partners, and we are thrilled to soon offer expanded service options with Denver Air Connection. This will open new opportunities for our passengers and stimulate economic growth in the region.”
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on October 15th will serve as a momentous occasion to celebrate the collaborative efforts and support that made this project possible. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the results of this significant investment in the airport’s infrastructure, which promises to strengthen MKL’s position as a key transportation hub in the state.
