The inclement weather that hit the area last week didn’t hamper Milan’s football performance on Friday, September 13.
They practiced in it, and the Bulldogs, following their 54-18 win over Camden, remained unbeaten and No. 1 in Grace Media Group’s WNWS.COM Baker’s Dozen area high school football coaches’ poll.
The Bulldogs (4-0) also have the ‘Player of the Week’ from REIDTEAM.COM and NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM & WNWS.COM.
Jaydon Peete, a junior running back/linebacker, earned the award after he rushed for 222 yards on 12 carries (18.5 yards per carry), scored four touchdowns – three rushing and one on a 35-yard reception in the Camden win.
“It could not have been possible without my (Offensive) line and team … it’s all them, not me,” Jaydon said. “I have a lot of trust in my team and my coaches.”- Jaydon Peete
From his linebacker position, he recorded four tackles – two for a loss.
Coaches quote –
“He’s a team leader. He puts everybody before himself … it’s what he does when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands that really makes him valuable – willing to block, willing to sacrifice … do whatever he is called upon to do.
“A phenomenal athlete, one of the best I have ever coached.” – Wade Comer, Milan High School head football coach
