Eyesore – A thing that is very ugly, especially a building that disfigures a landscape.
Excavator – equipment that features a boom, arm, and bucket, all powered by a robust hydraulic system. The machine operator sits in a cab and controls these various functions.
These machines do a great job of rummaging through different materials and removing debris.
An order for demolition of property – a former convenience store – located at 935 North Highland Ave., was carried out, Thursday.
Due to code violations, Judge Blake Anderson, City of Jackson Environmental Court, an order and multiple letters (had) been sent to the Defendant by the City of Jackson. A Summons was issued regarding the Defendant’s failure to comply with the City of Jackson’s codes and was served on June 24, 2024.
The Defendant did not appear for the July 22, 2024, Court date regarding this matter.
Based on testimony of the City Building Department regarding the current condition of the property and its danger to the public, photos of the property, and the record as a whole in this matter, this property (was) found to be a blight and immediate hazard to the welfare of the surrounding community and the City as a whole, and a danger to the public safety needing immediate demolition.
