The USJ Bruins defeated the Union City Tornadoes 56-23. It was an all out clinic in solid football execution.
On the offensive side of the ball Senior quarterback Corben Howard led the team down the field fearlessly with multiple extremely accurate completions and one courageous rush down the field . His standout wide receivers were Seniors Alex Wallace and Mills Terry. The MVP of the game on the offensive side of the ball was without a doubt Senior running back Noah Spencer with 6 Touchdowns, and 244 yards! That is the type of monster performance that will live forever, Spencer ran the ball wherever he wanted to all game long with an unmatched level of effort and skill. Junior running back Jackson Pugh also ran extremely hard in relief of Spencer, with one gritty and hard nosed touchdown breaking multiple tackles.
On the defensive side of the ball the standouts were Senior Miles Horton with multiple explosive tackles and pass breakups. Other defensive standouts were headhunting sophomore Eli Yandell, beastly defensive lineman Carson Moore, and Bradley Stamper with an amazing scoop and score touchdown. When asked about the great game he and his teammates had, running back Noah Spencer stated “It was a great team win and really showed the kind of team we are and what we are capable of.” This team has the potential to do great things this year.
