Although R & J Feed & Farm Supply is listed for sale, the store’s owner, Ginger Kemp, has a couple of ideas in mind for the 12,440-square-foot facility that sits on approximately 2.5 acres.
“I’m not going anywhere, and we’re not closing,” Ginger said. “Right now, I’m trying to figure out God’s plan. Do we keep it the way it is – or form a partnership with someone who brings in new ideas?”
Founded by Jimmy Stanford – Ginger’s father – and Robert Ivey in 1979, the business first opened as Wayne Distribution Feed, at 240 Commerce St., off East Chester Street, before relocating to 1030 South Highland Ave., in 2002.
The property – which includes the inventory – is listed for $999,000.
