Today, at approximately 9:35 AM, John McKenzie Williams, Jr., 30, of Jackson Tennessee, was being held for processing at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex. Williams had just previously been arrested by court security on a Failure to Appear warrant out of Circuit Court. While Williams was in the booking area, a Correctional Officer was returning through an exterior and interior door, Williams was able to push the correctional officer and flee through that same exterior door.
The Correctional Officer pursued Williams on foot behind the Criminal Justice Complex but he managed to allude the officer. The Sheriff’s Office received further information that Williams may have gotten into a 1990’s model Ford Mustang, Blue in color, more described with a loud muffler, in the area of Sycamore Street, Jackson, Tennessee.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is currently utilizing all resources to locate and arrest John McKenzie Williams, Jr, who is now facing additional charges for assault and escape.
